May is Mental Health Awareness Month – Mental Health Post for May 3rd

Sharing for awareness. Wishing she was 25. Delusional Thinking I know. Still I pray daily that my kid does not become a statistic. All part of waiting for the other shoe to drop.

My Loud Whispers of Hope

Suicide:

  • Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the U.S.
  • Suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death for people aged 10–24.
  • Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for people aged 15–24.
  • More than 90% of children who die by suicide have a mental health condition.
  • Each day an estimated 18-22 veterans die by suicide.

This is horrific and breaks my heart. We MUST do something about this NOW.

I Hate To Brag But …

I slept through the night for the first time in months.  A deep, sound, unmedicated  sleep.  Ya baby said in my Austin Powers voice over voice.  

A front blew through overnight and I feel the atmospheric changes. The air is electric yet I am calm.  I’m learning to accept that which I cannot change.  More than anything I’m convinced of the power of prayer (or meditation or mindfulness or insert mental healing method of your choice).   Every morning I pass by a sign on my way to work that simply says Prayer Changes Things. 

That it does my friends. That it does.   Wishing you all a fantastic Wednesday. Peace be with you.
