What The Spam?!

This is happening me too today. Vic explains it better than I could so I’m borrowing his words.

Saturday Night 😂

OK not only the squirrels are drunk. And no I’m not 😵. I’m joking.

I posted a link to something that was really a picture so now here is the picture that was never a link 😂

Friends For 47 Years = Healthy Mind and Heart ❤️

Today my camera shy friend

and I met for lunch at

The brunch was delish. The conversation was better.  The DJ just ok but only because he was too contemporary for us 70s/80s rocker chicks. I highly recommend TNT to the locals.

After too mas tequila or two mimosas each 😉 we walked down to and through the Pearl onto the Riverwalk.

Here is nature’s beauty in my own back yard. And yes shot #2 is a butterfly 🦋 in flight. I won’t quit my day job but I’m pretty proud of that one.

All that walking made us thirsty. So we stopped in at Local Coffee for some mint green tea.  We stayed long enough to drink the first glass and get our free refills.

In all 5199 steps or 2.1 miles.

Friends for 47 years =  healthy mind and heart.

As always, more to come.

What’s up with WordPress Today?

I can publish new posts, I  can like, I can re-blog but for some reason today my comments are not showing up.  This is disheartening because my fellow bloggers are lighting it up today and I’d like to share in their awesomeness.

I’ve tried both the app and desktop same result.  And because I’m technically challenged,  I’m sure it’s something I’ve accidentally done to my settings perhaps.  But since others who are more tech savvy than I have complained about WP, then maybe it’s not me?  Perhaps some of you out there in the netherworld can give me some advice?

As always, more to come.

The Early Bird Syndrome Is Curse

If I had a dollar for all the minutes wasted being too early, I’d be a millionaire!!!

I have a neurosis.  I own it.  It stems from my childhood where for any family event being 15 minutes early was considered late.

I vividly remember Sunday mornings getting ready for church.  Jokingly daddy would call out “I’m leaving in 10 minutes and if you’re not in the car, I’m going without you”

Little Jilly would immediately run to the car … socks and shoes in hand … to finish getting dressed … in the backseat … on the “hump” … because our car was a station wagon … with a hump.  As the youngest, that was my spot.

I have always had a weird way of processing time.  It’s anxiety pure and simple.  I build in an hour drive time for something that should take 30 minutes. So freaking ridiculous.

I’m working on conquering this though. To reclaim my time. To use for better things.  So today I have an 8:10 appointment; I leave the house in plenty of time to arrive at 7:55.  now that’s 😎.  By the time I check in, I should walk right in right?   Alas not to be.  This place is a zoo and even though I have an appointment I am still sitting here at 8:35 25 minutes after the scheduled time.

Then I think … putting a positive spin on it … I’m really not wasting my time … I’m word pressing. 😂 And all those other minutes lost, I wasn’t wasting my time either. In fact it was forced relaxation because I’m always go go go and I feel guilty when I’m not go go go. I don’t go anywhere without my books or Kindle so I get to read in these spaces in time which are really nuggets of gold maybe. Perspective.  Ain’t perspective a beautiful thing?

Namaste.  As always, more to come.

Happy birthday Billy Bob

On Monday Billy Bob turns 53. …

On Monday I’ll turn 53 too :-).   He always says we’re the same age. I’m not I’m a year younger but in his mind I get to be MY age for exactly one month and two days.  Now how many dog years is that? LOL

Here he is on a very Happy 20th birthday. Taken at the kitchen table on 223 Howerton. My mom always added dates to every photo. Seeing her writing on the back does a number on me. 🎉🎉🎉

Not only seeing her writing …  I just miss her. For too many years I was angry at her and she was gone.  Now I’ve moved on and thankfully I can remember some bright spots of her time here on earth. Let’s just suffice it to say that being an adult orphan sucks. It really really sucks!   The sometimes story of my life.  And yes this is preaching …  stop your bitching and moaning.  Be kind to one another. Hug your family while they’re still here because they won’t always be.

And with that, I am out. Enjoy your Saturday peeps.

As always, more to come.
