Wonder if this stat is true?

A while back I had a post saying this is not new, we are just more aware.  That’s my theory and today I read an article that furthered that theory.

The article basically said that this is the most peaceful time in history. I wonder if that could possibly be true?  I mean there’s some pretty ugly shit going on in today’s world .   Every day you hear about atrocities, it is in front of your face, broadcast news – 24/7.

The gist of the article is that we are just more aware of what’s going on not that there’s more of it.  I guess there was some pretty medieval shit back in the day.  Plus numbers don’t lie.  But and it’s a big BUT numbers can be manipulated to tell the story one wants to hear.

Just something to think about.  Because I can’t turn my brain off ever.  I hope it’s true.  When given the choice I always choose to be Pollyanna and think the best and hope for the best and/or be in deep deep denial.  At least my heart is in the right place.

As always, more to come.

I’m Speechless

Not!  I can count on one hand the times I’ve been speechless.    I’ve always got something to muse over and ramble about🤔.  I sure hope that’s the thinking emoticon.

Anyhoo, I’ve taken to keeping a notepad and pen with me as I watch TV so I can capture pearls of wisdom.  I am so easily amused and I’ll laugh but then immediately forget unless I write it down right away.  That’s  just the way things are post 50.  Either that or I’m a geek 🤓 or maybe a little of both.

Wednesday’s episode of Speechless was another good one.  Sharing some laughs in no particular order:

Maya to Kenneth after inviting him to Thanksgiving Dinner “seriously I’m not being rude.  Do you ever get invited anywhere on purpose?”

Jimmy “JJ had that thing with Joan”

Kennth reads for JJ “I do, sorry society”

Kenneth “this is starting to feel like drama. You’re going to attack me now to NC? That’s for “new colonel”

Ray “I don’t want to be the new colonel”

Maybe you had to be there but I’m laughing out loud all over again.

As always more to come.

Perseverance

I got this orchid for Mother’s Day from a coworker who is the most awesome coworker a girl could wish for.  He’s a really really great guy. In fact, I hit the trifecta of awesome coworkers.  Shout out to Riverwalk Crew🎉

This plant has been in my kitchen window for almost six months.  It had lost all the blooms but the leaves remained green.  I kept adding my weekly ice cube just in case.  About three days ago I noticed one bloom had come back and today it’s fully open.   There are  two more blooms on the way.

It’s the little things that make me smile.  Turned my frown upside down 😀

As always more to come.
