Relationship Advice from Juno’s Dad

Life

Self esteem or lack there of … how do you teach someone to value his/her own self-worth?  I kind of vacillate – strong independent to weak doubtful and the gamut all around.  By example, Lulu is following my lead.  Some days I want a do over.  To only model for her the strong and independent Jill.

I saw the movie Juno when it first came out and recently I ran across the following quotes from the movie:

Mac MacGuff: Look, in my opinion, the best thing you can do is find a person who loves you for exactly what you are. Good mood, bad mood, ugly, pretty, handsome, what have you, the right person is still going to think the sun shines out your ass. That’s the kind of person that’s worth sticking with. Juno MacGuff: Yeah.

Yeah, that about says it all.  Unconditional, in spite of everything … the RIGHT person is still going to think the sun shines out your ass. Don’t settle for less than that my loves.

As always, more to come …
