If you Wannabe a Writer then Write

… Everyday.  No skipping, no excuses.  WARNING: Cliché banalities follow: “Practice makes perfect! If you love what you’re doing, you’ll never work any day in your life.  A rolling stone gathers no moss.  Follow your dreams.  The world is your oyster! Carpe diem!”  I decided that I would write every day because I am following my dream to become a published author.  I have not a clue how to go about it.  There are rules as in any GAME but I am too lazy to learn them.  Then I happen upon WordPress and my life literally changes.  No I did not misuse the word literally.  STOP, do not read further just yet.  Go back and click the hyperlink … yes I am a grammar nerd who only knows enough to be dangerous and handles her own faux paus by calling literary license.

I get the best of both worlds.  I can write to relieve stress and create laughter which is the real reason I do anything.  I can purge my feelings here on virtual paper and people can read MY STUFF or not.  The real win is that release than comes from crafting a story.  All synapse firing and imagination pouring from my soul onto the screen based on actual real life events. My everyday musings allow me to ramble and I am having the time of my life.  When will I quit … when it is no longer fun.  Right now, this is like a drug to me.  I literally get the shakes driving home thinking about logging in and starting my rambling of the day.  Again – I MEAN literally.  I am foot tapping, bang on the steering wheel, jamming along to the music jitterbug ancy.  There’s a whole lotta shaking going on … thank you Jerry Lee … thank you very much ;).

I look at the world differently now.  Every interaction I have is fodder for another zany tale.  I have started my own genre non-fic-fic which is a cross between non-fiction and sometimes over the top elaborate fiction.  The job for the reader is to figure out how much of what I write really happened and how much is just pure delightful spin!  Keep ‘em guessing and keep ‘em coming back for more

For the record, Paige wants the audience to know that everything I write about her IS pure D fiction.  She says she does not talk like that.  The thing is, I think that what I write about her is non-fiction because that is how I hear what she says to me.  She has a wonderful sense of humor.  The sarcasm that drips from both of my kids is something I take full credit for … it is the only thing I can allow myself to claim.

Anyhoo, enough rambling for today.  Go see Ghostbusters!  Four funny women and one funny guy.  Nonsensical stuff set against the backdrop of NYC.  What’s not to love?

As always, more to come …
